19th Century Brass Mantle Boots

A very nice collection of English Brass mantle boots/shoes which would typically date from the mid to late 19th century (1850-1880).  Sometimes presented as a gift/ keepsake intended to bring newly weds 'good luck'. Beautifully and lovingly handmade from a time when limited resources and often great hardship gave rise to inventive, creative and extremely well made artifacts such as these 'Lucy' Victorian mantle ornaments.
