19th Century Lignum Vitae String Dispenser
A turned Lignum Vitae string dispenser that would probably date to the early part of the 19th century.
The birds mouth finial on the lid having a steel blade insert which would have been used to cut the dispensed string to length. The colour and patination of the dispenser is the best quality. A fab English shop counter piece of treen!
