A large & impressive hand thrown "Black high fired" glaze 3 handled TYG (ORTIG) with impressed mark in base reading - C.H. BRANNAM LTD.
Brannam pottery was first Est at BARNSTAPLE DEVON in 1847 by Thomas Brannam. Originally producing utility wares. Eventually the owner's son Charles Hubert would go on to develop the Art pottery side of the business selling Royal Barum Ware at Libertys, London in 1886.
This wonderful rustic example of an English TYG (15TH CENTURY CUP) is a charming simple piece of early English Art pottery.
Only minor Glaze losses.
