A pair of heavy Brass Vases manufactured by the well regarded firm J Wippel & Co of Exeter and London (Makers marks impressed on Base).
History- J Wippel and Co LTD was founded in Exeter 1789, A family run firm supplying Church furnishings, vestments and robes.
The stylised design of the vases which are of a deeply fluted flared form have strong Art Deco period influence. They would have been used as a church alter vessels for flower display. Beautifully designed and of the highest quality . A rare pair of church alter vases.
