Medieval Axe Head
A very interesting small size axe head possibly dating to around the 15th century period. The axe head (possibly for throwing) is made in three individual sections out of a copper type alloy. The pieces being shaped and joined together using iron rivets. A nice detail is in the three lobed design on each of the blade (a design commonly used throughout Europe in the late middles ages).
Note: later edging of the blade seems to have taken place at some time in its past.
A good, beautifully constructed example with excellent colour and patina.
