Tortoise Shell Snuff Box

Circa 1700.
History:
A beautifully simple tortoise-shell & silver snuff box. The central silver oval plate is monogramed with the owners initials and the hinge is most attractively shaped. The sides of the box must be gently squeezed to open the box, revealing an iron hooked clasp which secures the lid on closing. Early rare boy.
PS: period/historic repair to hinge.
